Without Barkov, Panthers rally against Blackhawks falls short in Chicago

The Panthers made a late scratch Tuesday night and it was a big one as captain Sasha Barkov left warmups early before their game against the host Chicago Blackhawks.

Florida then turned in one of their worst single periods of the season as the Blackhawks, losers of their past four and six of seven, scored twice en route to a 3-2 win at United Center.

The Panthers, with Barkov scoring three goals with six assists, had won their first four against Chicago.

They looked lost for long stretches without him Tuesday and paid for it.

By the time the team rallied and made it a game, they could not come all the way back.

The Panthers definitely showed some fight, however, following a lackluster start.
