Chris Driedger has a new mask — and it’s out of this world

Florida Panthers goalie Chris Driedger hinted at his new mask earlier this month with photos on Twitter showing off some of the artwork.
The mask is a tribute to the Disney+ smash hit ‘The Mandalorian’ while also including the Panthers’ shield logo.
Driedger’s Twitter post Wednesday showed off the final product, a mask with the Florida logo on the top and bottom.
On one side of the mask is a sketch of ‘The Child’ — whose real name was revealed in Season 2 (SPOILER!) as ‘Grogu.’

The other side of the mask is a depiction of Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin.
It’s a pretty sweet mask which was done by popular artist Dave Gunnarsson. You can see more of his work HERE.
Thank you @daveartofficial for putting my thoughts together and creating this beauty. What do you guys think of the finished product? #ThisIsTheWay pic.twitter.com/MuZJl2nbEP

The Panthers will open training camp on Sunday with the first on-ice practice expected to take place in Coral Springs on Monday.
Florida kicks off the 2021 season Jan. 14 at BB&T Center against the visiting Dallas Stars.
Driedger is expected to be one of three goalies on the Florida roster and is thought to be the primary backup to Sergei Bobrovsky.
Sam Montembeault should be the other goalie on the NHL roster.
