Laying the odds on the Florida Panthers
The Florida Panthers are getting some decent odds on the sports betting market, with the team moving up when it comes to NHL futures.
The recent additions of Sam Reinhart and Joe Thornton have seen the Panthers move up quite a bit.
At BetMGM.com, the odds Florida will win the Stanley Cup have moved up to +2000 which is tied for seventh with the New York Islanders and Pittsburgh Penguins.
Before the draft-day trade for Reinhart, Florida was at +2500.
The Colorado Avalanche remain the odds-on favorite to win the Cup at +600 with the Tampa Bay Lightning at +700.
Next up: Vegas (+850), Boston (+1200), Toronto (+1200) and Carolina (+1450).
If you want to bet a team from the Sunshine State is going to win it all — either the Lightning or Panthers — you can grab that combo for +500.
As far as individual players go, BetMGM.com has odds going for three awards: The Hart (MVP), Norris (defenseman) and Vezina (goalie).
Aaron Ekblad is the Florida leader when it comes to winning the Norris as he is +2000. Cale Makar (+500), Adam Fox (+600) and Victor Hedman (+600) are the favorites there.
When it comes to the Hart, Sasha Barkov is +2500 (Connor McDavid is +400) and Sergei Bobrovsky is +2500 for the Vezina (Andrei Vasilevskiy +400).
Interesting to note, Chris Driedger is also +2500 for the Vezina.
