SUNRISE — The Florida Panthers are without captain Sasha Barkov on Tuesday night due to an illness.

Barkov did not participate in Tuesday’s morning skate — although that did not raise any alarms as a number of players took their option and did not take to the ice.

Barkov came into Tuesday two games away from tying Jonathan Huberdeau for the all-time games played record in franchise history and would have tied the mark of 671 on Saturday against Seattle.

Now, the earliest Barkov can tie the record is Monday in Boston.

He could set the record Nov. 2 at Detroit.

With Barkov being out, the Panthers recalled rookie Mackie Samoskevich from AHL Charlotte.

Anton Lundell moved up to center the top line with Evan Rodrigues and Sam Reinhart.
