FORT LAUDERDALE — Spencer Knight will be back in net for the Florida Panthers when they play host to the Anaheim Ducks at 6 p.m.

Knight replaced Sergei Bobrovsky in net during the second period of Thursday’s 5-2 loss to the Detroit Red Wings and did not have much to do, Detroit taking just four shots at Knight the rest of the way.

Coach Paul Maurice confirmed that tonight was a regularly-scheduled start for Knight.

Goalie coach Robb Tallas and Maurice work out a schedule load for Florida’s goalies and they are sticking to it.

With a pair of back-to-back sets on this upcoming four-game road trip to the west coast, both goalies will get two games.

“Our schedule tells us we have to get the right rest,” Maurice said. “I think our schedule is going to work out 50 (starts for Bobrovsky) and 30 (Knight) for the season. That gives Sergei rest, and is the right number of games for Spencer. There will be important games and get both guys going. I am not flipping back-and-forth on performance right now.”

NOTES: DUCKS @ PANTHERS

  • When the Panthers visit Anaheim on Tuesday night, it will be bobblehead night for Ducks captain Radko Gudas. Maurice said he doesn’t collect anything — bobbleheads included — but would like to have that one. “I might even buy it if I have to,” Maurice said.
  • Gudas played for the Panthers from 2021-23 and is the franchise’s all-time leader in hits. This is his second season in Anaheim and first as the team’s captain.

  • Sam Bennett has not scored a goal in the past 19 games. He’s ready for that drought to come to an end.
  • Tonight is Pride Night in Sunrise with a special National Anthem performance by the Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida.
  • The team will also auction off special Pride jerseys designed by local artist Lori Pratico at FlaPanthers.givesmart.com. Proceeds will benefit local South Florida LGBTQ+ organizations.

  • Starting Goalies: Knight will go for Florida; The Ducks did not have a morning skate Saturday but John Gibson will be in net.
  • How to Watch: The Panthers are back on local TV tonight so the game can be seen on the usual channels. It can be streamed on Panthers+ in the team’s broadcast footprint or ESPN+ out of the local market.
  • NHL Betting Odds: The Panthers are heavy favorites (-400) on the money line at the local book. To win with the Panthers, a $400 bet pays $100.
  • Injury Update: Aaron Ekblad skated again Saturday and could return in Anaheim on Tuesday night.
