SUNRISE — Ryan Lomberg was doing the usual pregame television hit on Thursday night when the Calgary Flames sparkplug was asked what he recalled about playing in Tampa and facing the Lightning.

Obviously, Lomberg had a lot of memories of playing the Tampa Bay Lightning — some good and some, well, not so good.

Lomberg’s profane response immediately went viral.

“I like the palm trees and the sunshine,’’ he said, “but I F-ing hate these guys.”

Lomberg was back in Sunrise with the Flames on Friday afternoon for what turned out to be a spirited practice.

Calgary lost 3-0 to the Lightning on Thursday, but Lomberg was, as usual, leading the way in keeping his team’s spirits up.

Speaking with FHN, he said the viral moment was aimed not at the Lightning — but the Panthers.

He wanted to make sure everyone knew he still has their back.

“I was thinking of the boys when I said that for sure,’’ Lomberg said on the video you can see below. “It was weird being back, for sure. Some crazy ups-and-downs in that arena. It’s cool the way I left it off there, obviously beating them in the first round and then going on to win the Stanley Cup. It’s a good way to end that rivalry for me.

“But being back in town was pretty cool. Some good memories, and some bad memories.

“Overall, I still say ‘F- those guys’.’’

The Panthers will honor Lomberg during the first period of Saturday’s afternoon game against the Flames.

More on Lomberg in FHN tomorrow.

Come on back now, ya hear?
