FORT LAUDERDALE — The Florida Panthers and Ottawa Senators have one more game before both teams take off for almost two weeks off for the NHL 4 Nations Face-Off.

The Panthers will not play their next game until Feb. 22 against Seattle; the Senators play host to Montreal that same night.

So, there is NHL hockey for one more night.

The Panthers will be without rookie forward Mackie Samoskevich after he left Thursday’s game in the second period in St. Louis.

Coach Paul Maurice said it was a precautionary decision; Samoskevich took part in the morning skate Saturday but stayed late on the ice.

Jonah Gadjovich gets back in tonight.

“We got him looked at yesterday and it was much better,’’ Maurice said. “He woke up much stronger than he was.’’

NOTES: SENATORS @ PANTHERS

  • The Panthers will celebrate Black History Night with the team having “several activations including a live painter on plaza level” as well as a special drumline performance from The sound Check Group. The team will be selling Black History Night merchandise with player-signed jerseys available for auction on FlaPanthers.givesmart.com. The jerseys were designed by Miami artist Mwanel Pierre-Louis.
  • Ottawa will again be without center Shane Pinto due to an injury sustained Tuesday in Tampa. The Senators will go 11-7 tonight.
  • How to Watch: Tonight’s game is back on local TV. The game can also be streamed on Panthers+ locally and ESPN+ nationally. The game will also be part of Hockey Night in Canada which is why it is a 7 p.m. start instead of the usual 6 p.m. Saturday night time.
  • Starting Goalies: The Panthers will have Sergei Bobrovsky back in net; Linus Ullmark starts for the Senators.
  • NHL Betting Odds: The Panthers are favorites on the money line (-180) at the local book. To win with the Panthers, a $180 bet pays $100.
