SUNRISEBrady Tkachuk opened the scoring in the Tkachuk Bowl between the Ottawa Senators and Florida Panthers with a power-play goal in the first.

Matthew Tkachuk had the final say, however.

With a goal and two assists in a four-goal second, Matthew Tkachuk led the Panthers to their fifth win in six games, this one 5-1 over Brady and the Senators.

This was the final game for both teams before the NHL’s 4 Nations Face-Off — of which the Tkachuk brothers will be teammates for Team USA — and the Panthers went into it on a heater.

So, did Matthew Tkachuk who extended his goal streak to six games.

Florida trailed 1-0 on Brady’s power-play goal in the first — only Matthew answered for the Panthers at 6:18 of the second with a power-play goal of his own.

Tkachuk then sent a fluttering point shot toward the net that Sasha Barkov knocked home to give the Panthers their first — and final — lead of the night.

Gus Forsling and Sam Bennett also scored in a second period absolutely dominated by the Panthers.

Florida will be off until playing host to Brandon Montour and the Kraken on Feb. 22 and will have eight players — by far the most in the NHL — at the 4 Nations tournament which starts Wednesday in Montreal.

GAME NOTES: SENATORS AT PANTHERS

  • This was the 24th time that the Tkachuk brothers faced each other and the third time that both scored. Brady has seven goals and 13 points in 24 games; Matthew has eight and 29.
  • Matthew Tkachuk’s six-game goal streak is the third-longest goal streak in Panthers history; Sam Reinhart had eight last season.
  • Reinhart got an assist on Tkachuk’s goal which gave him 600 in his career.
  • Tkachuk’s three-point second period was seventh three-point period with the Panthers — second-most in franchise history behind Jonathan Huberdeau (12).

HOW THEY SCORED

  • Senators 1, Panthers 0 (6:38 1st PP): Brady Tkachuk finds himself all alone on the right side of the net, puts a shot between the skates of Sergei Bobrovsky and it trickles in.
  • Panthers 1, Senators 1 (6:18 2nd PP): Matthew Tkachuk was not to be outdone, snapping a shot from the right circle that zipped under Linus Ullmark’s right arm.
  • Panthers 2, Senators 1 (11:36 2nd): Tkachuk — Matthew, again — floats a knuckleball from inside the blue that Sasha Barkov bats down.
  • Panthers 3, Senators 1 (13:52 2nd): Gus Forsling flies through the zone with the puck and uncorks a monster wrister from 35 feet out that beats Ullmark gloveside.
  • Panthers 4, Senators 1 (17:58 2nd): Not to be outdone, Sam Bennett blisters a soft pass from Tkachuk from the right dot.
  • Panthers 5, Senators 1 (18:38 2nd EN/SH): Anton Lundell finishes this one off.
